The lower bark, then the strech above it, leaves and all, can you see the shape of a slightly contorted humanoid form? I can, and it's kinda cool
I know exactly how you feel. There is indeed "comfort" in loneliness, and I think you've portrayed that wonderfully in this image. It has a cold atmosphere; probably due to the blue toning. I like this composition. It has a great deal of meaning in it.
Cool shot:!: Interesting take on Monochromic pictures. Everyone does sepia and b&w This kind of like on a Hi res version of the old computer green monitors. Or in the Matrix. Lovely, perfect contrast as mentioned above, and yes being lonely is better sometimes except when im with my g/f. I wish the foreground was a bit more clear but than it gives it all more reason to lead the subjected tree good work
